1.4 billion people in India go through a roller-coaster of emotion every day, be it sadness, grief, shame or jealousy. Positive and negative thoughts and emotions do creep in every now and then. There can be multiple reasons for the same; family issues, worrying for career, children’s future & the causes go on. But what can be the solution?
Certainly it is to face the hindrance and overcome the same, to plan, strategize and implement an idea or to go back to past, learn and accordingly handle the present scenario. Whatever the resolution is, we all need resources for the same to go ahead. It is easy to say ‘directly face the problem & attack’, but in order to confront with a scenario we need suitable resources. Like during ancient days, soldiers used to carry deadly weapons to the battlefields, we also need to carry our resources while fighting with the negativity. And to own these resources, one need to buy them. And to buy we need money.
Certainly can cease the unhappiness
It is said that ‘money cannot buy happiness’, but it certainly can cease the unhappiness. In today’s world, one of the primary reasons for being unhappy is related to materialistic concern. And thereby, money may be a solution for the same. Lets us see few examples on the same:
You may be worried about your child’s admission to a reputed institution. It goes without saying that with reputation comes a humongous admission fee. Hence money does help, right?
You are bound to get bored of the daily chores. The mundane work-home cycle starts taking a toll soon after few years. You long for a getaway or a respite with your friends or family. To book a vacation to the serene beach of Maldives or to take a trip to picturesque Switzerland, all you need is a good bank balance.
You may be depressed for some ulterior reason which you cannot share with your friends and family. The more you brood over the same, the more you fall sick. You turn cranky and grumpy to your closed ones. It certainly affects relationship at your home & even work. What you need now? Consultation with a reputed psychologist. To pay a visit to him/her, you need to shell out the visiting fee which may be 1000/- or even more depending on the reputation & background. So money sometimes actually buys happiness!
Unsaid ego conflict and status clash
Unsaid ego conflict and status clash with your contemporaries or neighbor or even relatives is another common concern among the middle class and upper middle class families nowadays. You feel ashamed when your relative buys a brand new SUV while you are still driving the 9 years old car, or you may feel embarrassed seeing your neighbor’s daughter going to singing, dancing, basketball, drawing while your son’s usual routine is home-school-tuition-home. So when it comes to shame or embarrassment, money does help; either you buy a new car, home or you get your son enrolled in cricket, boxing, swimming and what not.
Although it sounds naïve that money can inspire our negativity, but giving it a practical and rational thought we all would agree to the same. In current society, nothing is free! Even you have to pay for the tissue paper you use to wipe your tears. So it is money on which you can bank upon during those dark gloomy days. They may be give you a self actualization to be happy, but certainly they decimate the reasons for being sad.
